BC woman in terror melee

A B.C. woman was among those who ran for their lives during the mayhem of Thursday's terror attack in Spain.

Alisha Norris of Surrey was in Barcelona's Las Ramblas district when a van careened into pedestrians, killing 13 and injuring at least 100.

"Everyone's happy, everyone's laughing, and then in an instant people are screaming and people are running," Norris told CTV from Spain.

"I could hear people getting hit by the vehicle, and I just looked forward and I ran as fast I could."

A panicked Norris said her first instinct was to call home, but she was too overwhelmed to speak.

She is vacationing across Europe and was due to leave Spain today.

"I never on my life thought this was an experience I'm going to have," she said.
