A school playground fire in Delta is believed to have been intentionally set.
Firefighters responded to Chalmers Elementary School Wednesday afternoon, about 4 p.m.
The playground’s mulch base was set on fire, causing an estimated $5,000 damage.
Police said the suspect is believe to be a six-foot-tall white man with a medium build who was wearing a black ball cap, grey-brown track pants and jacket.
The man was seen running away from the school down 73rd Avenue, but police have yet to confirm if he is a suspect.
Anyone with information is being asked to contact Delta police.
