Body sign of gang war?

Is a dismembered body dumped Wednesday in Langley linked to a gang feud?

Police said Thursday their investigation points to a targeted hit.

CTV reports the body was found only blocks away from an address used by the 856 gang, who take their name from a telephone prefix in Aldergrove.

The group was once mentored by Hells Angel Bob Green, and 856 member Jason Wallace is charged in Green’s death.

The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team has not yet said how the dismembered person died, and police believe the man was killed somewhere else.

According to CTV, the 856 gang began in Langley and has expanded its network as far east as Ontario.

“They started out as thugs, punks, some are family members, high school buddies,” said Staff Sgt. Lindsey Houghton of the Combined Forces Special Enforcement Unit.

“First it was petty crime, and then jacking people, robberies, and it escalated to violence."

Meanwhile, another reported Hells Angel was shot in Burnaby, Wednesday, in an incident in which a car smashed into a house. It’s not known who is behind that attack.
