Vancouver's Chinatown.
Vancouver police say a man has been charged with robbery after an elderly woman had her purse snatched in the city's Chinatown.
Because of a series of earlier purse snatchings, officers set up surveillance in the area and on Tuesday afternoon watched a man as he robbed an 85-year-old woman and pushed her to the ground.
Officers followed the suspect and took him into custody a few blocks later.
Calder Green, 28, of Surrey, B.C., has been charged with one count of robbery.
Police say they are investigating the possibility more charges.
Green remains in custody and police say he is scheduled to appear in court next Tuesday.
