VPD's finest, furriest

A hot new calendar is now on sale, featuring the Vancouver Police’s cutest members.

The 2016 Vancouver Police Dogs Calendar features members of the VPD Canine Unit in their working environment. The calendar is funded and produced by the Candy Anfield Memorial Foundation, which was created by retired VPD Sgt. Mike Anfield in honour of his wife, Candy, a VPD officer who lost her battle with breast cancer in 2004.

All of the money raised from the $10 calendars goes to the B.C. Cancer Foundation and B.C. Children’s Hospital Foundation. Last year, the calendar raised $30,000, bringing the total raised to $130,000.

Lower Mainland residents can meet the department's finest and furriest at an upcoming sidewalk sale, location to be announced.

The Vancouver Police Canine Unit has 15 handler or dog teams, comprised of 13 constables and two sergeants who are on call 24 hours a day, seven days a week. The teams are trained in criminal apprehension, as well as narcotics, firearms and explosives detection.
