Elderly females targeted

The North Vancouver RCMP are investigating two recent events that appear to be related. Both occurred in the central Lonsdale corridor in the past week.

In both instances, elderly females were victimized by a male who won their confidence and accessed their residences under the pretence of either being sick and needing assistance or in order to perform work in their residence.

However, in both cases the females had money taken from them, and in one case the woman was assaulted, but not injured.

The suspect is described as Caucasian, in his 50’s, slim and clean shaven. He also walks with a cane.

“We are urging the public to take reasonable caution when interacting with any individuals unknown to them,” said Cpl. Geoff Harder of the North Vancouver RCMP.

Anyone with further information they believe could assist with identifying the unknown male is asked to call the North Vancouver RCMP at 604 985-1311.
