Home invasion investigated

RCMP are currently on the scene of a home invasion and assault at a home on the 14300 block of 72nd Avenue.

About 1:30 a.m., police responded to the scene and located a 35-year-old male suffering from non-life-threatening injuries. The victim was transported to a local hospital in stable condition.

Initial investigation reveals two males broke into the residence and assaulted one of the occupants before fleeing.

Officers canvassed the neighbourhood and spoke with several witnesses.

The investigation is still in its early stages, but indications are the incident was targeted and involves parties known to each other, said Surrey RCMP Sgt. B. Parmar.

Anyone with further information is asked to contact Surrey RCMP at 604-599-0502 or CrimeStoppers at 1-800-222-8477 or www.solvecrime.ca.
