Jogger sexually assaulted

Police in Vancouver are looking for witnesses after a woman says she was sexually assaulted while jogging on the city’s west side.

The incident is said to have happened Thursday morning, shortly after 6 a.m. on West 16th Avenue near Discovery Street.

The 30-year-old woman told police she was attacked from behind by a man who threw her down to the ground and sexually assaulted her.

The victim screamed and fought off her attacker. She received some minor injuries in the assault and was extremely distraught, said police.

A search of the area turned up no suspects.
