Armed robbery at liquor store

Police are searching for three men who attempted to rob the Terminal Park liquor store in Nanaimo on Saturday night.

Video surveillance photos released by the Nanaimo RCMP show three suspects, one of which is carrying a sawed-off shogun and is alleged to have fired a round into the ceiling.

The thieves grabbed several bottles of wine and left the store, but not before another suspect discharged two bursts of bear spray at a female employee.

Police arrived within minutes, and with the help of a police dog were able to track the suspects for a short period of time before losing the trail. That's when they believe the suspects got into a waiting vehicle.

No customers were in the store at the time of the robbery.

The suspects are described as:

Suspect #1 with shotgun

  • 5'5" tall
  • Red bandana
