8:30 a.m. update Nov. 16:
One person is dead and another is in critical condition after a crash on Hwy. 97C Saturday afternoon.
A Dodge truck left the highway and rolled down a steep bank. It stopped rolling when it smashed into a fence at the bottom of the ravine, it ended up on its side.
Rescuers were not able to save a male who died at the scene. An air ambulance transported the female to hospital in Kelowna.
5 p.m. update Nov. 15:
At least one person is in critical condition after a Dodge truck rolled down a 30 metre bank off of Hwy. 97C.
The highway was closed while an air ambulance landed to take a person to hospital.
Traffic is now moving single lane alternating.
2:30 p.m.:
Rescuers are on the scene of a serious accident on Hwy. 97C, approximately 35 kilometres from West Kelowna.
Castanet has learned the air ambulance has been called to the scene.
A Dodge truck left the highway and went down a 30 metre bank. The vehicle rolled several times before it hit a fence at the bottom of a ravine.
