$100K in drugs seized

An estimated $100,000 in drugs and $14,125 in cash were seized in a drug bust this week in Nanaimo.

A search warrant executed in connection with an attempted abduction turned up the heroin, crystal methamphetamine, crack cocaine and powdered cocaine and the cash.

The townhouse in the 1400 block of Jingle Pot Rd was searched on Wednesday. No one was in the residence at the time because the occupants were already in custody as a result of the attempted abduction from the previous day.

A 25-year-old woman and a 31-year-old man arrested in connection with the attempted abduction also face charges of possession for the purpose of trafficking.

Police are also recommending an additional charge of personation against the woman for allegedly using stolen identification to secure the lease arrangement for the townhouse.

The pair will appear in court in January.
