Vancouver police have made an arrest in a smash-and-grab robbery in the city's gallery row.
Police Sgt. Randy Fincham says officers raided a rooming house in the city on Wednesday and seized several pieces of gold jewelry.
The aboriginal artwork matches pieces stolen Monday when a man burst into the Douglas Reynolds Gallery in Vancouver's south Granville neighbourhood and shattered a display cabinet to scoop up the jewelry.
Officers responding to the scene quickly traced a get-away car and arrested the driver while the second suspect was picked up Wednesday during the rooming-house raid.
Numerous charges, ranging from firearms offences to armed robbery and possession of stolen property, have now been laid against 41-year-old Harold Amos of Vancouver.
A second Vancouver resident, 51-year-old Scott Deckert, is charged with one count of armed robbery.
