Coquihalla open once again

Update 1:50 p.m.

DriveBC is reporting that the Coquihalla is open. All lanes both north and southbound have been reopened to traffic following accidents on Tuesday morning.


Update 10: 40 a.m.

After finally getting the southbound lanes of the Coquihalla opened this morning following an accident, the northbound lanes are now closed.

The lanes are closed near the Portia Interchange, approximately four kilometres north of Exit 202 due to another vehicle incident.

There is no estimated time of reopening.


Update -- Feb. 11, 7:46 a.m.

DriveBC says the Coquihalla is estimated to open to southbound traffic at 9:30 a.m. Expect 30 minute delays.


DriveBC is reporting Highway 5 Southbound is closed.

The website says it is closed at the Coquihalla Summit (1244 metres) because of a vehicle Incident.

Estimated time of opening is 7:30 a.m.

The highway was also closed yesterday after an accident near Zopkios.

There was a heavy snowfall warning on the highway last night, travel was not recommended.
