Kelowna-Lake Country showdown

Kelowna-Lake Country candidates looking for votes in the upcoming provincial election get their first chance at a face-to-face showdown Wednesday night in Lake Country.

The Lake Country Chamber of Commerce will host tomorrow's all-candidates forum beginning at 7 p.m. at Creekside Theatre situated inside George Elliot Secondary School.

All four candidates are scheduled to appear including:

  • Gary Adams – Green Party
  • Graeme James – BC Conservative Party
  • Norm Letnick – Liberal Party
  • Mike Nuyens – NDP

The forum is expected to last two hours.

Chamber manager, Corrinne Cross, describes the event as less of a debate and more of a question and answer session.

"The candidates will be introduced, they will each have four minutes to make their case and then we'll go into questions and answers," says Cross.

"Each candidate will be given two minutes to answer and then at the end each candidate will have three minutes to wrap things up."

Cross says a dozen questions have been submitted for Wednesday's debate.

"The community has submitted some great questions - the candidates will not have the questions ahead of time."

Each of the four will have a chance to answer each of the 12 questions.

Doors will open Wednesday at 6:30.
