Let's go for a swim, the water is safe

Water quality at city beaches has not been greatly compromised as a result of all the debris washing into Okanagan Lake.

Ian Wilson, Kelowna Parks Manager says weekly water testing began a few weeks ago

"There has been some fluctuation with the runoff and all the stuff coming down from the creeks and into the lakes, but, the good news is that all of our beaches remain open for swimming," says Wilson.

Wilson says there have been a few spikes during testing periods, however, those levels have fallen again upon re-testing.

"We had a little bit of a spike at Rotary Beach and another at City Park."
