Flood of Kamloops RCMP to Sahali connected to mental health incident, police say

Mounties say a mental health call triggered a major police response in Sahali on Thursday afternoon.

Castanet Kamloops began receiving reports of a large police presence headed up Columbia Street shortly after 4 p.m.

Mounties said it was related to a person in mental health crisis.

“Due to the nature of the call and privacy rights of everyone concerned, I won’t be providing any details other than to say that a person was apprehended safely and taken to hospital for any medical treatment they might require,” RCMP Staff Sgt. Kris Clark told Castanet.
