Poilievre's leadership vote

(Federal Conservative Leader) Pierre Poilievre won a majority (87%) support in the leadership vote at the recent Calgary party convention, with all his hand-picked delegates.

Those were the delegates promised to support him and pledge allegiance to him, otherwise they, along with others, would not have been invited to the convention.

Out of the hundreds of thousands of Conservative delegates who could have been invited and given the opportunity to vote, only about 2,900 were invited. Had all Conservative Party members voted, the number would have been in the low 30% range or lower. So, the fix was in. It was a given.

Going back a few months, what I find very interesting is they had to get Poilievre a new seat in Battle River-Crowfoot in Alberta and kick (incumbent M.P.) Damien Kurek out of a seat he won legitimately.

It was seat Poilievre was sure to win as no other area in Canada—including Ottawa Carleton, where Poilievre lost his long-held seat—want him.

Now he will be on the hunt to dislodge another poor M.P. from their riding seat as he says he does not want Damien Kurek’s old seat any longer. I wonder who he will dislodge now?

Here’s a guy who has been at the public trough for more than 20 years and who has given this country absolutely nothing but negativity. He has taken every benefit this country could give him.

As for his speech in Calgary, it was laughable. To start, he did not write the speech himself, it was written for him. That alone has to tell you something. How many times has he changed himself thinking people would like the new (version)?

Currently, we have a very intelligent, well-educated prime minister, Mark Carney, steering Canada in the right direction. He’s a man whose life has been in the working world and understands business and finance at its highest level, a man who what you see is what you get, inside and out. A straight talker.

Carney knows what is needed for Canada but knows—as do most in the country—it will not happen overnight. It will take time to put this country back on track and most Canadians know that and agree.
