Arts centre too expensive
Re. A new performing arts centre in Kelowna
How is it Kelowna taxpayers have not had a say and our (city) sees fit to spend $260 million of taxpayers’ money on a new performing art centre?
The existing (Kelowna Community Theatre) could easily be refurbished but city council sees fit to spend millions to destroy a park on the waterfront and develop an entertainment venue at taxpayers expense.
It seems the city has decided on this project with no consultation with the residents who will pay the bill for years to come.
We need a council that can see $260 million could be put to far better use. No lights on the William R Bennett Bridge bridge and no more (expensive) signs welcoming Canadians to our beautiful city.
