KGH needs another parkade
After driving in circles for 30 minutes to simply just drop off a test sample that could only be done at the Kelowna General Hospital labratory, it became clear to me yet again that something has to be done about the parking situation at KGH.
It’s time for the city councils in Kelowna, West Kelowna, Peachland and Lake Country to assist Interior Health with the construction of another multilevel parkade so patients coming from all those communities (to the hospital) can actually find parking.
Public transit is not a serious option for a large number of the people who need to access health care at the hospital.
IH needs to put a large part of its funds toward staffing and technology to look after the health of the population in the surrounding areas and that means the municipalities need to pitch in so their residents can access health care in a timely and an easily accessible manner.
