Confidence, career and clips to be created in new video storytelling mentorship program

Video mentorship program

For those creative young people who are curious about video production and passionate about making a difference in the community, Community Futures Central Kootenay and Greater Nelson Economic Development are launching a video storytelling mentorship program.

The program is a hands-on, paid learning opportunity for youth aged 15 to 30 to gain real-world skills in filming, editing and storytelling.

Participants will learn the fundamentals of video production in the mentorship, as well as work alongside an experienced mentor.

Through the program students will create short, professional videos that will spotlight local career paths for youth.

“Build confidence, creative skills and a strong portfolio,” read a press release from Community Futures. “This program is a great fit for youth who are eager to explore media, storytelling and meaningful community work.”
