Re. Jamie Hill's letter Extra fee tit-for-tat (April 28)
(The letter writer’s) tit-for-tat proposal is cute, but misses one fundamental detail—City of Kelowna residents pay taxes to the Regional District of Central Okanagan (as well as the City of Kelowna) specifically for the parks extended service, while RDCO residents outside the city only pay taxes to the RDCO and not to the city.
In order to make that comparison valid, (the writer) would first need to start paying taxes to the city, as well as an additional fee.
As he says, be careful what you wish for.
