Vernon-Lake Country-Monashee voters will be able to hear from all four federal election candidates tonight at a forum hosted by the Greater Vernon Chamber of Commerce and Vernon and District Performing Arts Centre.
General manager of the chamber, Dan Proulx, confirmed to Castanet Thursday morning all four candidates have confirmed attendance. Voters will hear from Conservative candidate Scott Anderson, Liberal candidate Anna Warwick Sears, Green party's Blair Visscher and NDP's Leah Main.
Anderson has raised eyebrows this election cycle by not responding to questions from local social services and not attending an environmental focused all-candidates forum, citing scheduling issues.
Today's forum takes place at the performing arts centre, 3800 33 St., from 6:30 to 8 p.m. with a candidate meet and greet beginning at 5:30 p.m.
The event will also be live streamed on the chamber's YouTube channel and streamed here on Castanet.
Proux will be moderating the forum and, if time permits, audience questions submitted during the meet and greet will guide discussions.
Advanced voting for the federal election begins tomorrow and wraps up Monday, the official election day is April 28. People can find their voting station online or by checking their voters card which has been mailed to eligible voters.
