Trail RCMP ask the public to help identify a gas grabber
All gas, no breaks
Trail RCMP are asking the public to help identify a suspect who reportedly stole 800 litres of gasoline from a commercial tank near Fruitvale on three separate occasions.
Police said that they received a report on April 4 at 6 p.m. detailing that gas had been stolen in the 800 block of Old Watena Road just before 2 a.m. on April 4, April 6 at 10:47 p.m., and April 9 at 9:53 a.m.
A man dressed in full camouflage wearing a face covering, driving a white and red truck, was seen on surveillance footage connecting a hose to the tank on April 6 and April 9.
Police believe he is associated with the crime and are asking anyone with information on who committed the theft or who can identify the suspect to contact the Trail Detachment at 250-364-2566 to speak to an investigator.
“Please report any suspicious activity involving this man or his trucks in the Fruitvale area. Trail RCMP suspects that thefts will continue until he is caught," said Trail RCMP Sgt. Mike Wicentowich.
