I recently returned from a trip to Europe.
On the last leg of the journey, our flight was delayed while sitting on the tarmac in Kelowna due to a technical issue. Once it was resolved, everyone rushed to disembark.
As I stood up, I heard something drop. A woman behind me said I’d dropped my AirPods, so I quickly picked up the case and put it in my purse.
When I got home, I realized I had two sets of AirPods. It seems the case I picked up actually belonged to a passenger seated in front of me.
I contacted Air Canada's lost and found, providing the flight date, number, seat details and description of the item. Unfortunately, I was told they cannot search their system with this information, nor can they notify the passenger who lost the item. My only option was to drop them downtown at a depot.
I was surprised to learn such a large airline doesn’t have a searchable system or AI tools in place to assist with lost items.
If anyone lost a pair of AirPods on April 10 and were seated near me on that flight, please email me at [email protected] with the model, flight number, and seat details. I’ll make sure they get back to you.
