Additional condos and short-term rentals proposed to Rossland city council

Rossland considers condos

More housing could be coming to Rossland in the form of new condos and short-term rentals at Rossland's Redstone Golf Course.

City council discussed the proposed plans during a Feb. 3 council meeting. The multi-phase golf resort and real estate development has been described in Rossland’s Official Community Plan (OCP) as an important residential addition to recreational development in the area.

The total value for a property located at Rossland Trail Wagon Road is $310,000 as of July 1, 2024, according to a 2025 assessment.

The current proposal would extend development from Copper Drive to the property north of Wagon Road, and add on to some of the already existing developments. One hundred and fifty of the 400 residential units (38 per cent) of the allowed developments have already been developed.

The new developments are expected to increase residential taxes and provide more local jobs for trades and construction workers. According to the proposal, the developments seek to address Rossland’s housing needs, and improve trail access. The proposal also highlights the potential community impacts such as an increase in construction-related noise in the area.

The resort is currently in the planning stages, and a completion date has yet to be established. Developers are surveying the community to receive feedback on the potential project.
