Re. Malcolm Roberts letter, Like Carney, not Liberals (Castanet, Feb. 13)
I’m not surprised at some of the letters trying to disrespect (Liberal leadership candidate) Mark Carney as potential prime minister PM.
That is the Conservative party of Canada’s playbook, to use any means it can to spread “disinformation” and “propaganda.” Whether it’s social media , letters to editors or even the mainstream media, Conservative propaganda is everywhere.
It is magnified in the Okanagan, with the influx of “right-wing” Albertans who have moved here. I notice many of the letter writers with these viewpoints are the same people over and over. It's so cliche.
For me, it’s clear Carney is the only one to lead this country going forward, with President Donald Trump at the helm in U.S.
(Carney’s) successful background at the Bank of Canada, Bank of England and especially in the private sector, gave him the experience and knowledge of how to keep our economy from failing apart in these uncertain times.
Unlike Malcom Roberts negative letter about the Liberal party, one thing not mentioned is Carney will have his own inner team of advisors who are not tied to any policies of the past and also come from the private sector.
I’m not sure what other choice there is unless you want to vote for a guy (Conservative Leader Pierre Poilievre) who’s never had a job (outside of politics) and has been (benefited from that) for years.
He is someone who (declines) to get a security clearance, someone who has to dumb everything down to three word slogans and has no real ideas of his own. Someone who would definitely bend the knee to Trump, just like (Alberta premier) Danielle Smith (did).
I find it hilarious how Poilievre campaigned tor two years on abolishing the carbon tax when Canadian prime ministers who have made life the most difficult for hard-working Canadians have always come from the Conservative party—From Brian Mulroney stacking the Senate to pass GST legislation to Stephen Harper who sold us out to China.
