Trail RCMP arrested a Bridesville man last week after responding to a disturbance at the Kootenay Boundary Regional Hospital.
Mounties say that on Feb.7 a 41-year-old suspect was detained after causing disorder in the emergency room.
Police allege that the man was intoxicated, and was yelling at staff after being denied visitation into the hospital.
Staff have the right to refuse entry to anyone visiting the hospital who poses a safety risk and danger to other staff and guests, said Sgt. Mike Wicentowich of the Trail RCMP.
"It is unacceptable to show up intoxicated and cause a scene. Please remember to be patient, respectful, and kind with staff when you visit the hospital," he said in a press release.
Officials reportedly detained the man, who they said resisted arrest by flailing his body around. Nearby security guards assisted in the arrest to bring him into police custody.
The suspect was lodged until sober in the cell block at the Trail police detachment.
