Is anyone else tired of the constant airplane and helicopter noise we listen to every day (over Penticton)?
I emailed the airport manager in Penticton and this was his response. He gave me links to Transport Canada and some basic operating procedures that pilots are supposed to follow.
To provide data for an investigation to proceed, a resident has to provide them unzoomed-in photo or video evidence as well as an estimate of the altitude, the plane identification, time/dates in a log to be evaluated by (someone) in government.
How do you get a plane’s id without zooming in (for the photo)?
How do you estimate altitude? The planes are supposed to be flying at a minimum 1,000 feet over structures.
The airport manager told me the airport has no jurisdiction over where the planes and helicopters fly. Why do these pilots have to fly over more than 38,000 residents every day, all day?
Noise pollution is a real thing and getting a bureaucrat to do anything through the channels they require is annoying and practically impossible.
