Save the ostriches

Re. Culling date nears (Castanet, Jan 23)

Open letter to Canadian Food Inspection Agency

Do not harm the healthy ostriches in Edgewood.

They are no harm to anyone and it would be murdering healthy birds that have antibodies to N1H1 bird flu & Covid, which means they are immune now.

They are not showing signs of illness and are part of research to help end bird flu.

Your staff need to consider this and be open to learn and adapt to go forward in a positive way. It's (should not be) a one-way-for-all attitude or just-kill-them attitude.

You have to take the high road and consider all the positive facts in this situation.

Make a positive decision to save these birds and keep them alive for the good of humanity and all the animals that will benefit from these antibodies.

I have faith you will do the right thing and save these birds from an unnecessary culling of this beautiful bird.

Carmen Ross, Vernon???????
