It has been a difficult year for many of us with fires, inflation and rising food costs.
The Central Okanagan Food Bank is serving more individuals and families than ever before, and the need for food and monetary donations is huge.
The 13th annual B.C. Thanksgiving Food Drive is being held this week and there will be hundreds of volunteers donating their time by dropping off paper bags throughout multiple neighbourhoods in Kelowna. On Saturday, Sept. 23, those same volunteers will pick up food donations.
The many children who help out are really excited when there is a bag of food they can put into their car to deliver to the food bank.
Consider filling a bag from your pantry for someone who has had a tough year.
If you didn’t receive a bag, please consider giving a monetary donation to the food bank or drop off your donation at your nearest Save-On-Foods, which sponsors the event.
