Re. Patrick MacDonald's letter Proud to be Canadian (Castanet, May 24 )
This is the second time in a week I have seen writers claim Canada's Debt to GDP is some number in the teens.
This is not accurate, the ratio fluctuates but is near 100 percent.
The only way to get numbers indicated by MacDonald’s is if you credit the government’s account the money in the Canada and Quebec pension plans, which belongs to the people not the government.
