Charge 'terrorist' juveniles

Re. Courtenay couple assaulted after confronting teens performing TikTok stunt (Castanet, March 27)

“Police were called and were shown video of the violent encounter.

But Owen May was shocked to discover that police consider his use of the fishing line a possible crime.

“‘We’re actively investigating this matter,” RCMP Insp. Mike Kurvers told Glacier Media. Crown prosecutors will decide whether charges are warranted,’ he said.”

How ridiculous. The best the police can offer the victim of a very serious crime is to threaten them with charges? What is wrong with our justice system? It is seriously broken.

The on-going “terrorism” of these juvenile delinquents should be the subject of a vigorous and tenacious attitude by the police and prosecution to ensure they are charged as adults and with the most extreme charge —terrorism!

That is exactly what they did upon the community. It was disgraceful.
