Motorists hoping to use the Trans Canada Highway between Revelstoke and Golden Tuesday should look for an alternate route.

The portion of highway will be closed between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. for avalanche control.

According to DriveBC there will be no detour available around the closure.

This isn't the first time the section of Highway 1 through the Rogers pass has been closed for avalanche control this winter.

Just 10 days ago the highway was closed for 10 hours for avalanche control.

Avalanche Canada reports a high avalanche danger through much of the Rogers Pass area due to continued snowfall and wind.
