Free skate library opening in Osoyoos to remove barriers to enjoying community ice skating

No skates? No problem!

No ice skates? No problem.

The grand opening of the brand-new Osoyoos Skate Library will be held this weekend at Sun Bowl Arena, aiming to make ice skating accessible to everyone who wants to enjoy it in the community.

The skate library is a free resource for anyone who does not own their own. The arena hosts regular public skating sessions, and the library is a way to remove any barriers for people to get involved.

On Sunday, Feb. 12, from 3:30 to 4:45 p.m., celebrate the launch of the library with a free skate, hot chocolate, popcorn and music.

The library, moving forward, will be available during public skate sessions. Anyone with skates they no longer need can help the project continue by dropping them in the donation bin.

The project was made possible by the Osoyoos Rotary Club.
