ORIGINAL: 8:15 a.m.

A portion of the west side of Big White is affected by a power outage this morning.

In a brief message from senior vice-president Michael J. Ballingall, the outage is affecting operation of the Gem Lake Express, Powder Chair, and the Falcon Chair.

Ballingall tells Castanet News the outage is only affecting those lifts.

The remainder of the resort and the village are not affected.

FortisBC has been alerted and are on their way to work on the problem.

This is the second time power has been lost at the ski hill.

Power was out to most of the resort last Friday when a snow covered tree took out a power pole.
