Guilty plea to voyeurism

A North Okanagan man pleaded guilty to voyeurism on Wednesday in BC Supreme Court in Vernon.

Gilbert Abunaga had been charged with observing or recording for a sexual purpose, and publishing obscene material.

He had been expected to go to trial, but changed his plea.

The offences were alleged to have occurred on May 27, 2021, in Vernon.

Sentencing was adjourned, with a next appearance to fix a date on March 22, Dan McLaughlin, communications counsel with the BC Prosecution Service, confirms.
