A person was apprehended by police and taken to hospital on Monday night after a passerby reported someone in emotional distress on the Red Bridge.
According to Mounties, officers were called to the bridge just before 9:30 p.m. for a report of a person experiencing a mental health crisis.
“Officers were able to locate the person shortly after and apprehend them under the Mental Health Act,” RCMP Cpl. Crystal Evelyn said in a news release.
Evelyn said the person was taken to hospital for medical assessment and care.
