Victoria Police are asking for public assistance in their efforts to find two men who sexually assaulted a teenage exchange student Tuesday morning in Topaz Park.

The girl was walking through the park between 9 and 10 a.m. when her path was blocked by two men in the area of the fieldhouse and washrooms, near Finlayson and Glasgow streets.

The men stopped her and assaulted her before she was able to break free and run to a safe location, where she told an adult what had happened.

The two men are both described as disheveled and about 60 years old with dark hair. Both were wearing black shirts, black pants and black shoes, and were carrying black backpacks.

Police are asking to hear from witnesses or anyone with video footage. Call Victoria Police at 250-995-7654, extension 1.
