Suspect arrested after cash, electronics targeted in North Shore burglary

Man arrested after burglary

A suspect was arrested Wednesday hours after electronics and cash were stolen in a burglary at a North Kamloops business, police say.

According to Mounties, officers were called to an alarm at a business in the 700-block of Sydney Avenue at about 4:45 a.m.

RCMP Cpl. Crystal Evelyn said investigators determined cash and electronics had been stolen. A suspect’s image was caught on video surveillance and distributed to Mounties.

“Later that morning, around 7:15 a.m., a police officer attended a location on Tranquille Road in search of the suspect,” Evelyn said.

“The officer not only located a suspect, but also recovered the electronics, cash and other evidence related to the investigation.”

Evelyn said the suspect is in custody with charges pending.
