Nearly 3,500 homes and businesses are in the dark on the Westside due to a power outage.

BC Hydro says power was lost at 9:54 a.m. to a large area southeast of Highway 97 and north of Gellatly Bay.

The cause of the outage is still under investigation and a crew has been assigned. No further details are available.
