The exact cause of a fire that damaged several cars in the downtown Vernon parkade may never be known, but investigators have determined where it started.
"Due to the extent of the fire damage to the vehicle where the fire started, the exact cause of fire is undetermined," says City of Vernon spokesperson Christy Poirier.
"However, it has been determined that the fire started in the dash area of the car."
A total of three vehicles were destroyed in the Friday afternoon fire.
Several others in the proximity had damage of varying degrees from smoke and soot.
