Tipping fees to go up in the new year at the Glenmore Landfill

Tipping fees to rise

The City of Kelowna is raising the cost of dumping at the Glenmore Landfill.

As of January 1, 2023, rates will be adjusted by $2, with the tipping fee increasing from $102 per tonne to $104 per tonne. The minimum tipping fee will remain at $12 for loads under 250 kg.

The increases are in accordance with Solid Waste Management Bylaw No. 10106, which was updated and approved by Kelowna city council in October.

You can find the complete list of waste rates and acceptable materials that can be dumped at the Glenmore Landfill here. You can also take a virtual tour of the facility.

Residents are reminded that the landfill and associated Regional District of Central Okanagan Recycling Depot will be closed on Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year’s Day.
