Environment Canada forecast cool temperatures and snow this week

You might want to get your warm jackets and shovels out.

Environment Canada forecasts temperatures well below zero with lots of snow this week across the Thompson-Okanagan.

"You've got cold air gonna be getting enhanced basically from Monday into Tuesday morning and then by Tuesday afternoon looking at snow pushing in. The snow will basically be Tuesday night and Wednesday, " said meteorologist Gregg Walters.

Monday will see a high of -4 C with a mix of sun and cloud and a chance of flurries. Overnight the temperature will drop to -12 C.

Periods of snow with a high of -8 C is in the forecast for Tuesday.

Wednesday and Thursday will see a high of -5 C with a chance of flurries. The temperature will drop down close to -10 C overnight.

Friday will sit at -6 C with cloudy periods and a chance of flurries.

Starting off the weekend Saturday should be mostly dry with a high of -5 C.
