Kamloops Mounties say they seized a gun, ammunition and drugs following a late-night traffic stop Friday in Dallas.

According to police, an officer was conducting patrols for impaired and unlicensed drivers just before midnight when she spotted drugs and paraphernalia inside a vehicle she stopped on Kootenay Way.

“A further search located more illegal substances and weapons,” RCMP Cpl. Crystal Evelyn said in a news release.

“A woman was arrested and released with a court date as part of the charge recommendation and assessment process.”

Evelyn said Mounties seized a suspected firearm, ammunition and bear spray, as well as drugs.
