West Kelowna's first vitamin and supplement store to shut down after 34 years

Thrive Naturals to close

West Kelowna’s first specialty vitamin and supplement store will soon be shutting its doors permanently.

Thrive Naturals was known as Natural Harvest when it opened in 1988, but owners Randall and Michele Kovacs decided it was time to close down operations after 34 years. A specific date for the closure was not announced.

“The driving reason was that we are both relatively close to retiring, and we decided that this autumn is the best time,” the Kovacs said in a press release.

“Thanks to all the amazing people we have met over the years. We are forever grateful for all your patronage and support. We will miss all of you.”

Thrive Naturals, which moved to its current location of 2454 Dobbin Rd. in 2014, will be liquidating all of its products and assets, so there should be some great deals soon as the business winds down operations.

Its website will remain operational past the actual store closure so “users of a very popular line called Nature’s Sunshine herbs will know how to purchase these items going forward,” Randall Kovacs said.
