Applications open for annual Canada goose hunting permit within Oliver town boundaries

Goose hunting in town

Applications are now open for six Canada goose hunting permits available annually in Oliver, an exemption provided under the Good Neighbour Bylaw.

Successful applicants will be able to discharge firearms within the Town boundaries during the hunting season, which runs from Sept. 30 to Nov. 30, Dec. 30 to Jan. 5 and Feb. 21 to March 10.

Permit holders must follow all provincial and federal hunting regulations and receive permission from any local landowners before shooting on their property.

Shooting will be allowed on public land at the Oliver Airport and Tucelnuit Lake.

Applications are available in person at the Public Works department, 5971 Sawmill Road, or online here.

Applications must be sent in by Friday, Oct. 21.
