$1.6M project will see new natural gas line along Highway 97A to Enderby

New gas line on the way

A new natural gas line will serve the Enderby area.

FortisBC says the Highway 97A gas line upgrade will "improve reliability and meet the growing needs of our natural gas customers" in the North Okanagan community.

The new line will follow Highway 97A and Highway 97B.

Fortis says it will also be working along some rural roads, including Capri and Gardom Lake roads.

"The new line will help increase capacity for continued reliable service for all customers while meeting the needs of larger agricultural operations in the region," the utility company says.

The project is estimated to cost $1.6 million.

Public impacts are expected to be minimal, the company says. Flaggers will be located along rural roads within proximity of the work zones to direct traffic.

Work is expected to start Oct. 3 and continue for a month.
