Lasers, daredevils and acrobats: Unique holiday show heading for South Okanagan Events Centre in Penticton

Lasers, daredevils and Xmas

The first day of fall has only just arrived, but for those in Penticton already looking ahead to the holiday season, the South Okanagan Events Centre has an exciting announcement.

On Saturday, Nov. 26, the SOEC will host Holiday Dreams, a unique show featuring one-of-a-kind holograms, projection mapping, holiday music and lasers, alongside a cast of acrobats, daredevils and cirque performers.

It is billed as a modern alternative to holiday shows, featuring a fast-paced style, produced by Q Productions Las Vegas.

Performers in the show include seasoned talent seen on shows like America's Got Talent and Outrageous Acts of Science.

Extreme rollerblading, elves on scooters catapulting off ramps, comedy bits and more are just a few of the unique offerings the show has.

"I wanted the show to present high-end technology and amazing talent seen only in Vegas shows. We have holograms that are truly magical. We have Lady Light, an award-winning laser performer that 'bends' light and manipulates lasers; we have a lot of audience interaction and comedy," says creator and producer Fernando Quevedo.

"I also wanted to create a show that celebrated the spirit of the holidays and would serve as a bridge for families from different generations to come together and experience something together. We are all absorbed in our little technological worlds. Theatre allows a communal experience. A place for all to gather and laugh, cheer and be awed. There's something truly wonderful about that."

The show follows the story of a mischievous elf who believes he has mailed himself to a tropical island but instead finds himself delivered to the wrong address – in this case, Penticton.

Tickets are now on sale starting at $49, or $29 for kids while limited supplies last, and can be purchased online here or at the SOEC Valley First box office.
