Kamloops RCMP say 34 thefts from cars, 10 bike thefts reported from Aug. 1 to 7

34 thefts in first week of Aug

There were 34 thefts from motor vehicles and 10 bicycle thefts reported in Kamloops during the first week of August, according to police statistics.

Between Aug. 1 and Aug. 7, there were eight thefts from vehicles that happened in North Kamloops, over 20 thefts from cars that were reported from the south shore, and one reported near Rayleigh.

According to Kamloops RCMP, there were two thefts from cars that were reported from Brocklehurst, while four happened in an area northwest of Eighth Street and Tranquille Road.

Six such thefts were reported downtown and in the West End, while four thefts happened while vehicles were parked in Sahali and on the Thompson Rivers University campus.

Three thefts from motor vehicles happened in Aberdeen and one was reported from the Knutsford area.

Police data indicates four such thefts happened in Valleyview, and one was reported in Dallas.

From Aug. 1 to Aug. 7, there were 10 bicycles reported stolen to Kamloops RCMP.

Two bikes were taken from the North Shore, while seven were taken from Aberdeen and Upper Sahali neighbourhoods.

One bicycle was reported stolen from Sun Peaks.
