Millions of MamaRoo baby rockers recalled over potential safety issue

Safety recall for MamaRoos

The maker of a popular baby rocker is recalling more than 2 million units due to a hazard that could lead to infants becoming entangled in dangling straps.

4moms is recalling its MamaRoo Baby Swing, versions 1.0 through 4.0, and RockaRoo Baby Rockers.

The potential danger is posed when the rockers are not in use.

“When the swing or rocker is not in use, their restraint straps can dangle below the seat and non-occupant crawling infants can become entangled in the straps, posing a strangulation hazard,” 4moms said in a statement on its website.

The issue is easily fixed, the company said. Anyone with an affected unit can contact the company to receive a free strap fastener that will prevent the straps from dangling.

Affected model numbers for MamaRoos are 4M-005, 1026 and 1037. The affected RockaRoo model number is 4M-012.
